Being diagnosed with diabetes is unquestionably life changing. Suffering from symptoms like fatigue and increased urination can mean having to alter daily routines. Having to regularly check blood sugar levels and being required to take medication every day can be difficult enough. However, one of the largest adjustments for those newly diagnosed is having to become more aware of food choices and learning how their diets must be reformed. For many, this often means giving up sugary foods, soft drinks, and even breads, pasta, and other high-carbohydrate foods. According to new research, following a high-carb diet can be extremely detrimental and even dangerous to health for diabetics and others struggling with insulin resistance. Several studies compared the health of participants who followed high-carb versus low-carb diets, and the findings were significantly in favor of those who limited carbs.
