Stress Management for Autoimmune Disease Symptoms

Autoimmune disease is one of those medical conditions where the cause is not always easy to identify. Researchers have made a lot of progress in searching out the various causes of these disorders, such as exposure to toxins and an unhealthy gut, and they are finding out more all the time. While autoimmune disorders can have a genetic component, it’s estimated that external causes play a role in around 70 percent of autoimmune cases, and stress has come out as a major one of those factors. Autoimmune disease can lead to debilitating symptoms such as chronic pain and the breaking down of tissues and nerves, and stress can both trigger the disorders and exacerbate symptoms. While occasional stress is a normal and important response to certain situations, unrelenting stress is not healthy and can lead to major imbalances in the body.
