Although opinion varies on the best way to measure body fat, the medical community agrees that the health risks of excess weight are real and alarming. Obesity is the starting point of a path to type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and more. In everyday life, it can be a source of numerous debilitating symptoms such as sleep apnea, increased sweating, an inability to cope with sudden physical activity, and even depression.
